    Hello

Like the subject line says, found this image in my uncle's album. One of the two chaps is Polish from his cap badge & rank bars(names unknown), is the structure behind them familiar to anything around Brancepeth?

A longshot but just had to ask.

    Chris..........

Also just noticed that the cap badge of the fellow on the right is different and appears similar to that of the DLI? Any thoughts from those more familiar with DLI badges? Have also attached a blow up of the badge, it's as clear as it's going to get.

    Hi Chris,

Brancepeth has changed so much I doubt very much that there will be anything to compare your photo with, the camp is long gone, the Castle survives but is private .Perhaps someone who was stationed there during the war or early fifties can help?
The photograph is out of focus but I would hesitate to say it is a DLI cap badge(theres only one) it resembles an East Surrey type of badge( to me anyway) but not a good enough image to say for definate one way or another.Sorry.

    Best Wishes
    Jim
