Could anybody ID this?

    This is a recent donation to our museum collection. It came in with pieces of shrapnel, shell casings, belt buckles, and other items that were found on Guam in the late 90's. All the other items have been identified. This one has us stumped. The balls are made of lead and are loose, the base, I believe, is steel. Any info would be appreciated.

    Looks like caseshot/ grapeshot to me but I wasn't aware of it's use in WW2 or the theatre mentioned...

    Most definitely some form of anti-personnel projectile though.

    Just so everyone has a better idea of the item's size, it's roughly 2x2 inches

    sir, while i'm not exactly positive, it reminds me of a portion of a cluster bomb/ artillery round probably post ww2.
