Would any member have information on the above ATS Corporal who died 20th December 1944?

She is commemorated on the screen wall in the City of London Cemetery and is buried in a communal plot, maintained by the CWGC – Square 241 Grave 108028 with 17 other various Civilian Organisation casualties, 14 of whom are commemorated by CWGC; Corporal Courtney is not commemorated by CWGC.

Before contact with CWGC or a Death Certificate is sought any information would be gratefully received.

Do you have a photo of the memorial with her name on it? It sounds as though you might have.

I have a pic of the screen wall on which her name appears.

Try as I may I am still unable to post pics on this Forum - I click on the 'Insert Image' icon and receive a window asking to "Please enter URL of your inage". I have no URL, the pic is coming from a file in 'My Docs'.

I can send if you PM your email or advise how I can post here?

her being buried in a non world war grave in CWGC care points to her being out of service when she died unless of course we can prove otherwise.

I have sent an enquiry to CWGC pointing out the facts in my first post and asking why she is non-com.

What I don't understand is if she was out of service surely she would not be 'Corporal' she would be 'Miss' or 'Mrs' or just plain 'Ivy F. Courtney' short of dying from a service related injury???
