Don't worry, our better halves still have the right of veto.
I was once talked out of buying a P08 cutaway model because ‘It doesn't work and is completely pointless!’
The punchline: a few weeks later, she decorated our living room with a picture similar to the attached one... in A4 format... for three times the price.
In her eyes, it was an absolute must because it had been energetically charged by a shaman.

When you absolutely, positively have to land right f*cking here!

    "Ack! What was that?"
    "Daisy cutter."
"Did they drop it ON US?"
"Nah, it's a few miles away."

French Canon de 75 mm modèle 1897 on British Bren carrier in German service.

Or, as we Germans would say in our straightforward manner:

Since my compatriots were still fantasising about "Endsieg" even at the beginning of 1945,
I would like to express slight doubts in this regard.

It didn't pay to have doubts in the alpine redoubt no doubt :)

Kind regards, I'm full of doubts' this morning, but not always,

    Jim.

    What's wrong with this picture?

    BOB1969.jpg

Well, everything's fine. It's a still from a "Behind the scenes" shot of "The Battle of Britain". It's a little gem from the IWM pool that I discovered a short time ago. Lovely 1960's charme.

Enjoy, and a Merry Xmas to all Cool pix Aficionados.

    SHOW-OFF
Due to the difference in size compared to the Kübelwagen, the Sd.Kfz. 7 looks like a special effect from a Roland Emmerich movie. (The photo would have also fit well in the caption thread or the Volkswagen thread, but now it has ended up here.)

Well then, the Wehrmacht may well have suffered an epic defeat at Moscow – but that shouldn’t stop us from paying attention to important linguistic details

I repeat what I said on the telephone:
To ensure that we do not end up in a situation similar to that in England, the Führer wishes that foreign words adopted into German be spelled exactly as they are pronounced. The Führer therefore wishes that ‘Ski’ be spelled with an Sch and not with an Sk
