    Help please

I have been asked to help an individual trace her father's wartime service and subsequent brief employment with the CCG (as a civilian not serving soldier)

The wartime service will be relatively easy via APC Glasgow. However does anyone know where the CCG Personnel Records are stored and who to approach?

Thank you for the suggestion but unfortunately the individual concerned was never a member of BRIXMIS

Thank you for the second suggestion. I had already found the FO 1032-1037 file sequences which in some ways are a continuation of the WO 171 Series familiar to many.

What I am looking for is a particular individual's P/File similar to that held in APC Glasgow for the military. I doubt whether the CCG equivalent are held in Kew.

  6. I'm sure I read somewhere that there are individual employment cards held within the Home office, but this might only relate to people released by the HO for overseas service, such as Policemen etc. I will see if I can find the information again if it's of interest?

Some appointments esp senior ones may have been in the London Gazette which has a searchable, though at times seemingly random online index:

This may not be relevant, but I also seem to remember a thread with photos about older personel records of civilian workers of the MOD/War Office being prepared for archiving. Of course I can't find it now.
