It's 11:30 pm here in Cockfosters, England and I am just about to close down for the night. It has been a very good day, with my close knit family helping to make it all worthwhile and the icing on the cake has been the many kind messages that I have received on this forum. Thank you all & good night ! Ron
Mazel Tov, Ron Sorry i just missed your birthday, but I've only just found time to join the Forum. I know how it feels to be 86, so the best of health and, above all, happiness and good fortune in your family. My 92 yr old (Burma Star) brother was asked what it was like to be 92; "It's a lot better than the alternative", he replied! Kind regards Les
Hi Les I truly thought that this thread had run it's course and then up popped your much appreciated good wishes and a timely reminder that the "alternative" was certainly not the best of choices Amongst my memories of yesterday's most pleasant birthday are the phone calls I received from two of my surviving three sisters, one in her early 80s and the second from a delightfully energetic 95 year old who said she "just had to speak to her baby brother !" My eldest sister is an un-believable 98, so, genes being what they are and touching all the right buttons, I've got a fighting chance of being able to bore for England for quite a few years yet Do keep well and don't forget to take your tablets ! Ron
Hi ron, soory to missed the day, I hope that it was as enjoyable as it could possibly have been but not as good as next years. Best Regards simon
