Do you regularly visit, or are you planning to visit, the Commonwealth Air Forces Memorial in Englefield Green (Runnymede)? Is a relative or friend of yours commemorated on this monument? If your answer to either of these questions is “yes”, then I would love to hear from you.

I am a postgraduate history student at Royal Holloway, University of London, conducting dissertation research related to the monument. An important part of my research is the personal story you can tell me about your relationship to the monument and those whom it commemorates.

I am not a friend or relative of anyone at Runnymede but I have visited several times because there are members of the Sqn in whom I am interested on it. Is that also part of what are interested in?

    Good luck Beth.
I can think of at least one chap on here that has a personal 'relationship' with Runnymede. :poppy:

Any chance you could share what you've found once the dissertation is done.

@Oggie2620 Why don't you fill me in on what your interests in the squadron and the memorial are? E-mail me at beth.lipoff.2010 @ live.rhul.ac.uk and we can see if it fits.

@von_Poop I would need to check with my supervisors, but I think it might be ok. They may want to wait until after it has been marked.

I would like to say thank you to the people on this forum (particularly Oggie2620) who helped me with my project.

From the interviews I conducted and my other research, I created a website based on oral history about the Commonwealth Air Forces Memorial at Runnymede.

You can view it at: Home - Commonwealth Air Forces Memorial Oral History Project

I hope you all might finding it interesting and/or useful.
