Portsmouth News 25 July 2015 Cmdr Harold Goulding DSO was a commander in the SBS during d-day. His grand daughter Jill Goulding found a stash of documents in the attic in 2010 which showed that he had carried out more landings on enemy occupied coasts than any other officer of any service. A close friend was major general Sir Robert Edward Laycock but who still cannot the reveal 'closely guarded secrets' of his work. This means the name of Goulding does not appear on any memorial or events relating to d-day. Jill Goulding is organising a memorial flotilla of cockle canoes and spitfire fly past on August 21 from Hayling Island sailing club to the langstone hotel to deliver a blue plaque to honour his name.

Great information and it is heartening to learn of a man with such a fanstastic reputation. Very vivid accounts of his experience but strange that he hasn't figured more highly in the press and other books.
