Over at Otto's other site, WW2f, there is currently a Combat Mission Beyond Barbarossa Tournament going on (see my sig).

I don't know how many CMBB/CMAK players we have here (I know there are a couple)... any interest in something similar here?

We would do it via PBEM.

    What, about the game? See:

    Combat Mission

You can get cheap copies off eBay. It's not a FPS, however.

It's also worth checking out a local PC Game store; my local 'Game' had copies for CMBB for only 99p a while back!

I am disappointed that your 'current status' is only currently 'OK'.
At what point are you expecting it to be 'Astride the world as a conquering tyrant'?

We do expect performance when combating these types from across the pond you know...

Well, it's only round 1 over there.

Owen, I am preparing a disk for you with all the patches etc on.

    marcus69x I love WW2 meah!!!

Sounds interesting but I've never been any good at tactical games. I always lose. :)

I prefer first person shooters as it feels more like you're in the soldiers boots.

Day of Defeat is still the best IMHO. Bit dated but addictive.

Guys I run The Few Good Men. A sort of military chat/wargame club. I run a heap of Combat Mission campaigns and tournaments.

New members always welcome or perhaps we could build a little FGM v WW2Talk tournament?

Let me know if there is any interest.

My XP laptop is giving up the ghost, and I can't get it to play on Vista.

It does actually work on Vista. Its more the DX10 graphics cards. There are workarounds for it.

    Windows Vista

There dosent seem to be a lot of response on this thread re the CM tournament. I have just completed a couple of CM missions and having got the knack of handling the troops, would be interested in the tournament. Presume that every player plays in a league or knock-out, with the winner of the mostest going forward on points won?

    Let me know, thanks

Unfortunately I don't think there are enough people on here who play regularly to do a tournament. Perhaps we could set up some PBEMs for those who want it?
