I too have this recording on video tape which i'm sure that i recorded off the television many years ago. BBC2 i'm sure it was. Either-way it's a superb documentary that i've watched loads of times.
Hi guys I just came across this thread about this fantastic film. My Grandfather is on the film and this is one of the few bits of video footage I have seen of him. It's the only footage I have of him in uniform. So proud and agree with you all it's a great, thought provoking film.
Hi, Ref the after affects of such service. Across the road from my Family home in the northern outskirts of Newcastle-upon-Tyne lived a WW2 veteran Mr N (now deceased). My Dad helped him get his war pension because Mr N suffered from Nightmares. Mr N told my Dad he could only work at night never during the day. Mr N was a Tail Gunner in Lancasters and did his full quota of operational tours. Regards, Mick D.
