have no idea why other do it but for me it started with a wish to do something for comrades of my dad who made it through but many of his pals didn't.
Mitch was doing a project on Reece Graves and was after some in my area so I oblige Spidge was also after some RAAF boys from Caambridge. Stand in a site like Cambridge with over a thousand 2nd WW graves and you can't help but be moved. I photographed all I could find both ww1 ww2 and post war from there. After posting on this and other sites that I had photos available of Cambridge headstones I had dozens of request. I guess it's helping out the people that still care about those that made the ultimate sacrifice.
I'm now doing some more locally that will be placed in the local museum along with any info and photos about those that made the same sacrifice from this area. The museums are well visited it it just may help that they are never forgotten.

Thanks for posting the photos Spidge.

They illustrate what seems to be typical of the state of war graves in Iraq. The ones in North Gate (Baghdad) look just as bad, if not in a worse condition.

I think it's very sad when graves are desecrated, no matter where they are, their nationality, military or civilian.

I'm sure that a lot of people do not realize that this desecration has taken place. Hopefully when (if?) peace returns to this part of the world, the cemeteries can be restored.

Perfect thanks.. I have no personal collectors interest as such..so this seems reasonable. Thanks I will though pm folk with individual ones as to where the pic will be. There and maybe just a facebook/yahoo cemetary list. Start this week. Again thanks, i can usefully add to that site.
