It's probable that the photo of my Dad was taken by one of the photographers that used to appear in barracks after Sunday morning Church Parades. As Dad was single at the time,it's feasible that he had more than one copy made. The really intriguing aspect of this is - that the original owner of the copy posted by Verrieres,took the trouble to find out what happened to Dad & then record the details on the back of the photograph. Thank you Mr Jinks for taking the trouble to investigate this interesting mystery. Which is unlikely to be solved unless.......someone knows different!?
