Dogtag is stamped OFLAG IV C 344 The number 344 ist the prisoner personal number . It was high security camp for senior officers who allready escape from another camps , there were many celebrities like nephews of Winston Churchill and King George V . Actually it had nothing to do with senior officers, which normally means generals. Captains (army) and squadron leaders are not senior officers, captains are not even field officers.
