    Early days, but once the media, who've been wholly positive, pick up on the international petition I'm sure we'll collect a pile of sigs. Thanks for signing.

    Good work fellas :) Let's hope there is a large response from the international community - the British Government might take some more notice then!

    Why the hell do people have to beg to have this place preserved? It was arguably the most important activity of WW2.

    There's also another petition going around to support a new war memorial. It seems that Lottery money is to pay for it.

    Why has the British Govt. developed this stupid policy? Why aren't they doing what's expected of them?

  12. I was just about to say the same thing Herakles but you beat me to it !! :mad:

    They always seem to be able to find money to subsidize all kinds of crazy things that have no meaning .... why not the important things .... like preserving Bletchley - where the ingenious codemakers - and codebreakers - whose work determined the life and death of the Allied soldiers and agents etc in occupied Europe and shortened the war by months even years ?? I just don't understand !!

    Why has the British Govt. developed this stupid policy?

    They do those? When?

    Seriously, I hope this takes off. However 100K USD is a little short of the million GBP they need for roof repairs, but its a start. Cannot understand why they had no lottery funding.

    I don't understand a lot of this, namely how;
    it got this bad
    the roofing bill is £1 million.
    the BP trust spends almost every penny they raise.
    they don't take simple preventative measures like a coat of paint on the huts.
    good gifts, like the conning tower and deck from "U-571", are allowed to rot in a service area despite being offered a free coat of preservative.
    despite wanting to raise cash to "Save" BP there's no mention of it on the site.

    Don't get me wrong, BP is an important place, but it's dreadfully run. I have a feeling that a lot of potential funders have noticed this and that is the biggest problem in them finding funds.
