Were any Hamilcars recycled? Continuing ... from on top of the canopy. (Varsity)

A couple well known unrecycled gliders photographed sometime later with advanced deterioration. The first is CN 71 which landed badly off course on LZ 'V'. It was captured for an Illustrated Magazine article on the 1946 Pilgrimage. More information here.

The disintegrating remains of Major-General Gale's glider, CN 70, along with "Churchill's Reply"

Cee, I don't know if you put the wrong photo up, but the inside shot looks to be from a Halifax rather than a Hamilcar.
I have seen photos of Hamilcars being recovered (from both Normandy and Varsity) by road having been dismantled on the LZ, the fuselage making a somewhat comical oversized load.

    Aeronut,

I've looked over some Halifax cockpit pics and at the moment I just can't tell? I suspect you are probably correct and know better than I.

Once again a couple of the deteriorating Coup de Main gliders at Pegasus Bridge in comparison to the same two caught by Sgt. Jim Christie (AFPU) on June 8th.

Added: Somewhat related - a Russian delegation visits the Airborne LZs on July 27th, 1944.
