    Hi

I wonder if anyone is able to help me. I have a service record from WW2 showing the recruits pre Army trade classification as : L. 012/4 EG

I believe that the 012 denotes the trade category and the number 4 after the slash mark, (also shown as a. in some records?), relates to the role within the category, but I can't find any lists that might identify his pre war job from this coding.

I know that he was called up in 1941 and in 1939 he had been an underground worker in a colliery, so could the above relate to a role in a coal mine?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Best regards

    Mike
