I can only go along with all the positive comments made previously and cannot thank Tom Canning enough for tempting me to the Forum from the BBC Forum. It speaks volumes that there are WW2 Veterans actively taking part on this Forum and always ready to share their experiences and worldly wisdom. Adam, you're too modest. The witty, slightly detached and sometimes bitingly cynical moderators' comments are a large part of what keeps this forum on track. There is a good balance of posters but many other forums have shown that it takes little to throw them out of kilter.
Can only add my voice to what everyone have already expressed so eloquently above. I've had a great 2014 and it's in no small part to what I've learned on here over the years. Merry Christmas and very prosperous new year to you all.

My regrets and apologies for not having "broken the bread" with my many Friends in the forum in a long time, but these have been no easy times lately. With so much help from Admin, Mods & Members over the years, in my opinion this forum is now unsurpassed in the wealth of knowledge available on all aspects of WW2. I totally agree with all the above. Many many thanks are due to Otto, Admin and Mods but perhaps most of all to the many forum members who contribute to the content of this great resource. This is the first forum I joined and still I think the best and the one I feel most 'at home' with. Some of that is due to the peculiar way (and I mean that in the kindest sense) that Admin and Mods run the site and keep us all in check. Best wishes to all for the festive season and let's look forward to an even more successful 2015.
