I thought you might like this as it's a little different - but shows that people tried to make life normal, even at the 'front'...

(In posting this I realize that those that served at the *very* front will perhaps not appreciate that second line support were enjoying such a feast...Particularly as they were in SUPPLY. Which makes it somewhat suspicious!)

Here is the menu for Christmas dinner for 14 BSD, RASC in 1943 (sadly Dad didn't caption the venue)...

If anyone has any information they can add about the venue, location or knows any of the people in the photo, please let me know - I would greatly appreciate any help you can give.

    Thanks...

    The venue (???)

Thank you so much - I can't tell you how terrific it is to get some real information to attach to these photos. :)

You've made my afternoon (not to mention my mum, who I'll be telling tonight!)...

    - I'm so glad I found this forum. :D

Thanks for those additional photos! :)

Now that's a holiday I will have to start saving for - to visit these places. My wife always fancied North Africa, so I guess I should start putting away some pennies.

    Cheers, Steve
