    Hello all,

Anyone got any of them ? Are they worth it ? Does it give detailed details of the causes of death of the plethora of LAC’s that it’s hard to track down or are they all listed as DOAS etc ?

    Thanks

    Jon

Jon??? is that you??? , :) .. just kidding...

We discussed the books and the DVD here - its a hit or miss.. Failed To Return - Airmen Died In The Second World War 1939-45. (Books)

At present we have about 9000 unaccounted airmen in the RAFCommands DB.. Chris Hobson has about the same if not more.. I would think it is possible to squeeze a 100 or two out of the hobson's book before we hit that wall again!

Members have sent in a few entries based on the book - There are atleast 340 entries in the DB credited to the Hobson DB.. Mostly POW deaths in the far east.

To be more accurate, i have 9150 records unaccounted, I have about 150-200 unprocessed updates from Le Jon! so that would take the DB into the 8999 territory!

Reg the books - Couple of our contributors already have the books/dvds, one good area is it is helping us identify some Unidentified Types (~200) and some unidentified serials (~200).. I have to start processing that data as well. it wont show any reduction int the unaccounted, but the quality of data will improve
