    JohnG505 Getting there......

Can anyone please identify, with service numbers if possible, the four officers on this flight?

    Many thanks in advance.
    John.

    I'm pretty sure we have:

Lt-Colonel Noel Frederick Bridgeman Shaw DSO

Indian Army no. IA/203 senior officer 3/6 Gurkha Rifles and known as Freddie Shaw.

    Major James Methven Ritchie MC

Army no. 1250. 3/6 Gurkha Rifles.

Both these officers were awarded their gallantry medals for their efforts on Operation Thursday around the fighting at Mogaung:

    Lieutenant-Colonel (acting) N.F.B. Shaw D.S.O.

Major (temporary) James Methven Ritchie MC

I cannot make out the other two names under Major Shaw and sadly, the 3/6 GR war diary has no officers returns within.

Still working through the manifests and came across this one....

If I have this correct, 2984507 Sgt James Donald, Cameronians, awarded the DCM and 2037917 Gnr Gordon William Parchment, Royal Artillery, awarded the MM, an impressive flight.

However, I'm struggling to work out the service numbers for McQueen, Arnold, Nichol and Barbour. Anyone know their correct service numbers?

    Many thanks.

I've played with the contrast and sharpness to aid visibility and I'd say there's a fighting chance the second name is Hart.

Do these flight manifests cover the South Staffs for Chindit 2?

    Cheers

    Would that be 38 Column??

Lt Col Richards was 1st Bn South Staffs, if I've got that right.
