British Brigadier General Orde Charles Wingate inspects an area and supplies are brought for the Chindits in Burma.
I look forward to viewing these when I get home this afternoon, computer at work not set up properly.
Thanks for posting those Steven. I think that is the best quality footage for clarity of picture I have seen in regard to the Chindits. In particular the film of Wingate briefing the men along with Colonels Alison and Cochran. I have heard some of the audio for these periods, Cochran was quite an inspiring orator, from what I could hear.
We can add the Movietone website to this list of archive footage. http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/british-indian-army/32316-3-2-gurkhas-arakan-13.html#post423539 This was site highlighted last week in the Burma section by new member Binro.
In my fathers war diary he gives an account of the meeting with Cochran and co. If anyone is interested I will try to post it (but still dont know how!) I also recently discovered an unusual chindit badge, made out of carved ivory, among his belongings Does anyone know which units are in the clips?
