My brother had that, he's 9 years older than me. No box just a carrier bag to keep it in. I made my younger brother go to the end of the track and bring the cars back to me.
Anyone else remember this? I do indeed, cousin had it - I seem to recall more huge disappointment, until airguns reared their lovely heads a few years later. we were poor in our house , had to play with the manual version Hasn't changed that much, still a bloody good toy, cheap, slightly violent, what more could you need. Looking at those cars, we've got both of 'em still, lord knows how old they are now.

And that is why you were spoilt. I still retain a mild hate for all owners of bigtraks in the 80s, I wanted one so much. Even seeing how rubbish they are now hasn't cured me. Oh and I had the trailer. I almost expected a neg rep.
Double bastard. To all owners of 'Escape from Colditz', How often did you actually finish a game? I just remember it being nearly impossible for the escapers; hours of careful planning constantly killed by an appel.

Probably the best proper toy gun I owned as a nipper. The fuzz would have a fit these days. I wonder what's up in the loft...
Probably the best proper toy gun I owned as a nipper. The fuzz would have a fit these days. I wonder what's up in the loft... Now you're talking. I remember that very piece, and the arguments over who used it rather than the girly six-shooters. Couldn't be an officer with a six-shooter. (Girly cowboy guns still made to the exact same pattern, with the same crappy brittle metal, my sprogs have a few in the armoury: The Model 08, sadly, appears to have departed the shelves.)
I saved up the stars on the Action Man clothes & equipment boxes & sent off for that. It's in the cardboard box , top left, in my Action Man picture in post #93 all neatly folded up. They didnt send the Sam Browne belt set with it so I stole my brothers white MP Sam Browne belt from his old Tommy Gunn. I liked the RMP best with his No.2's, SMG and Red Cap
It's all coming back to me now... I think I had a second-hand one of these: Other Joe 90 stuff (none of which I had).
I had a luger like Idler's. Great to see the photo. My cousin had a Dan Dare Radio set. I was really envious. Toys are definitely wasted on kids. Keith
I liked the RMP best with his No.2's, SMG and Red Cap Mine would have been the para: My dad never said much about girls, but he did teach me how to put on short puttees!
Arnold Palmer Pro-Shot Golf. I had this towards the end of my childhood. I played with it for hours. It said at the time that it could help your swing. If you fell off a roof and had a pin and plate in every joint maybe. In the end I lost one of my balls down the back of the settee. Oo-er. Keith
This was one of my all time favourite Christmas gifts as a boy. Injection molding was cutting edge technology in the mid 60's!
After the 'Vertibird' recollections I bought myself a little present a couple of days ago - the cheapest RC helicopter I could find in the sales. Model Zone was flogging 'S111G' for £24.99 and I couldn't resist it. It's IR rather than radio control and only suitable for indoor use but I thought what the hell - if I crash it and it breaks no real problem. Amazingly after a battery charge or two and many initial tumbles I discovered the knack of flying it without damaging the model. Now, after probably an hour or so of actual flying it (and many more charging the battery) it still flies and I am getting quite profficient with it. I am impressed with how robust it seems for such a cheap and light toy. Great fun.
