    That's a wonderful statue they have. Thanks for sharing these pics. It's making me think of a holiday in Guernsey when I was 14 and being taken to see tunneling also in the side of a mountain. Can't recall what its use was for, but I remember the huge difference in temperature when I came out (I don't think the excavations had been completed). I believe it was POW who were used to break through the rock there.

    I am sure that the privations that my father, and the rest of the population of Jersey endured during the occupation contributed to his early death in 1952.
