Whilst carrying out my monthly browse of the Family/History magazines at Tesco extra I found a fantastic photo of three small children sat on a bench eating three odd looking sort of Lollipop things. It is titled "Enjoying an improvised snack of carrot on a stick 1941". Who Do You Think You Are, Jan 2010.
How do you think children today would cope with a raw carrot on a stick.

    Any more quirky snacks ?

    nice pic

2 of mine would complain about the stick. The youngest ate so many carrots, drank so much carrot juice that he was positively orange-skinned when little. The health visitor even wrote it in her notes.

My mother's neighbour made potato pancakes from grated potato skins and ersatz coffee grounds. I really wouldn't want to try that.

I was partial to dipping my crisps in my mums Mackeson when I was younger :D
