Cheers Tom, the one on the left is the intresting find, the author started out the war in a Welsh regiment then transfered to the Para's then after 2 years during which he saw no action:huh: despite talking of being in N.Africa, he is court martialed for various offences and sent to no 1 field punisment camp for 5 months......... he is then posted to 2nd BTN S. Lancs, and than wangles transfer to another regiment ending up at Anzio. Along the way he speaks of executions at the Punisment camp and British soldiers being shot by their own side to stop them surrendering. Some quite wild accusations anyone else know of this book? the two claims I mention are just two of many others in the book despite it only being 48 pages long!

    Jason,
I cannot say that I have heard of those accusations and it would be interesting to see if forum members can confirm or rubbish them.

    Regards
    Tom.

See you got the Jon's Two Types Booklet for 50p.

A bargain there, I think I paid considerably more for mine from a regular book finding source on the internet.

Read about the book here: http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/italy/3876-two-types.html

    That's my copy below.

Realised I have been amiss in posting here for a while so this is what I have picked up in the last three weeks, The first book was a £1 and the best find .........with to my knowledge not much written on the Auxillary units its contents make very intresting reading, in particular the Gestapo arrest list in the event of Germany invading Britain being a sucess, the second is a nice addtion to Ian Fleming's Commandos, which I bought the other week this book on 30 AU cost me £2 and is brand new..... and 8 quid cheaper than its companion! and the last well it was a £1.50 and one for the SOE collection......... all from the same seller who always has some good books.

Which car boot do you go to?

I never find any books like that around here. It's all Catherine Cookson, Dan Brown and Clarkson paperbacks.

I'm not at all envious of your bargains.....:p

    Hi Mate,

I'm fine, although a little tired due to work commitments. I've never really explored Car Boot sales, too frightened of returning home with more stuff!

Just resurrecting this thread as I like seeing what people come across in their travels.

Personally had a high on my way home this morning. Found 813 pages on the Battle of Britain for less than a coffee at a garage sale.

    Plenty of reading here:)
