    Sheldrake All over the place....

The draft text of the history of the RA in the Mediteranean says
'25th Field Regiment (12/25th and 31/58th Batteries) under Lieutenant Colonel HCW Eastman was at Sollum on 25th May [1942] when Captain A MacLennon rejoined having walked 350 miles from Benghazi!'

Can anyone explain the background to this feat.

Reading in 'The Tiger Kills' , on pages 97-98 ,another 4th Indian Division soldier, Deep Chand of the Central India Horse, walked 200 miles in 34 days to British lines after the breakout from Benghazi.
The books says there were many such adventures, too many to list.
