I think that your first line:

Kinnegar - Trained on ADER commission as Lt OME 4th ???? is Trained on AOER commission as Lt (C?).O.M.E 4th Class.

The writers C's are very big aren't they?

C.O.M.E - Chief Ordnance Mechanical Engineer

To be clear, he was training as a Chief Ordnance Mechanical Engineer?

I plan to do a deeper dive on all the information I am getting here and as I am a newbie and don't totally understand the forums protocols, is it appropriate to start new threads with specific queries?;)

I thought that line in your Gt Uncle's service record could be either "(OME 4th class)" or "COME 4th Class" I added what C.O.M.E was an abbreviation of for information only :)

I had another look at the record, and on other lines and studied the Captital "C"s and brackets, and Im would be convinced it is COME rather than (OME. on the first line, although I stand to be corrected.

That said, if you look 4 lines down (when he is stationed in Lisburn) the term comes up again except this time its clearly a bracket (OME 3 CL). I will keep plugging away with the research and try not to make too many assumptions.

Finally got some of my great uncle photos copied (23) on to my computer. Some are of decent quality. My great uncle took these photos and they have been buried in his daughters attic longer than my lifetime.

If anyone can tell me anything about these images I would be grateful (regiments, locations etc). Some of the writings on the back suggest some where taken in the Lebanon, Lybia and Egypt. He also served in India.

Post this here by mistake, tried to remove attachment
