    Hi all,
Trying to understand a couple of further things regarding my Grandad.
I’ve got all the service records etc but I’m a bit confused regarding a couple of badges that have been passed down from him (unfortunately he is no longer here to ask)

One is his metal (cap?) badge for the 2n Bn Glasgow Highlanders:

but there is also another fabric badge that looks like the cap badge of the Highland Light Infantry (haven’t got a photo of the original fabric badge), but its the one with the bugle in the middle, with “Assaye” written underneath and an elephant under that

Would this be a shoulder patch or something?

    Thanks a lot

Yep - that’s the badge that he had a fabric version of.
I’m wondering why he would have had both badges - is it due to the Glasgow Highlanders being part of the Highland Light Infantry?
I’ve done various Google searches, but can’t seem to find an answer.
