I found this photograph the other day amongst some family papers, unfortunately I have no idea who it is. I'm guessing that he was a member of a yeomanry regiment but I'm not sure. I would be grateful for any information relating to this photo, unit, period etc.

    In my opinion, either:

    1) The Lincolnshire Regiment
    2) West Yorkshire Regiment
    3) 3rd Kings Own Hussars
    4) The Leicestershire Regiment

I would say it was early to mid 1920's probably from '23-27....

Thanks for your reply, I just wish I knew who it was however the information you have given may help me narrow it down.

W.Yorks collar is a Fleur de lys

Leicestershires have the tiger collar (cap badge is wrong for that anyway)

    Lincs had a stubby sphynx

3rd KO Hussars had the hannovarian horse with no scroll (as appears to be depicted)

...looks certain to be the Lord Adam Gordon's Life Guards then!

Thank you all for your replies.

I have to say it does look like the 3rd Hussars, am I still looking around the mid to late Twenties as Donnie suggested for the period?

    Regards,

    Nick
