Cannon Mounting?

    Hello,

    Can anybody tell me what type of weapon was used on this mounting. Was thinking a 20mm Hispano or Oerlikeon.

    This looks like it, a mounting for a 20mm Hispano Suiza.

    Midge, can you tell us where the photo was taken or comes from please?

    Clearly not Mildenhall! ROYAL AIR FORCE BOMBER COMMAND, 1939-1941.

    I appreciated that Robert. It’s a pretty crude set-up and what I had in mind was that maybe the base section was repurposed when these were declared obsolete. Upon reflection, the image that Midge provided makes me think this was an early war emergency production.
