Today a local Dutch newspaper published an article about a crash of a Canadian airplane in Holland on 23 June 1945. It crashed in Hof Espelo (near Enschede) in Eastern Holland. The cause of the crash was a mid-air collision with another plane, reporedly while doing aerobatic maneuvers. When the plane came down two locals were killed; the father en grandmother of Jan Rothman who was interviewed for this article. Mr. Rothman (72) is looking for more information about this crash. Details re the above incident....... 23 June 1945 409 Squadron Mosquito NFX - MM567 Crashed near Tewnte, Netherlands. The aircraft took off with a passenger on board and shortly afterwards the pilot attempted to formate on another squadron aircraft but whilst recovering from a diving turn the pilot tightened the turn at low level, stalled and lost control of the aircraft. With insufficient height to recover it dived into the ground causing the deaths of two civilians working in a field Crew. F/L. John Henry Skelly RCAF (Pilot) + F/O.
