    One that caught my eye:
UK, Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects, 1901-1929
    Name: J T Bateson
    Gender: Male
    Death Date: 30 Nov 1919
    Rank: Driver
Regiment: Royal Artillery (Royal Horse Artillery and Royal Field Artillery)
    Regimental Number: 87564

Ahhhh - even a family tree:
    John Tripyear Bateson
    1893–1919
    BIRTH 3 MAY 1893 • Garstang, Lancashire
    DEATH 30 NOV 1919 • Russia

Intriguing about Russia - may need to Sherlock that a bit more.

Berenice - Guy & I are looking into him at the moment - on his medal record card it states "Deserted 1920", as you can see his family tree says he died in 1919, as does the database UK, Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects, 1901-1929 which is probably where that came from.

Will keep you informed - its a mystery at the moment
