Hey there, ok im doing a skool assignment lol well duh!...y wud i b here then, but anyway.....i tell u wat i need to know and stuff: -The task is to create a "Box of Memories"/Written Component about a real immigrant family/individual who immigrated to Australia post WW2 until 1970. 1. European country of origin. 2. Family/individual profile researching on. 3. Write briefly why the person/persons decided to emigrate to Australia. 4. Describe briefly how they arrived in Australia. 5. What possessions they brought with them to Australia. 6. Impressions of Australia once they arrived. 7. How they were treated by the Australian people, and how they coped with being immersed in a new culture. 8. Any further experiences. If you have any info. and know of anything associated with the things that i hav written above please reply A.S.A.P. Thank you

All I can say is that my dad's cousin and her family emigrated in the 1950s and came back a few years later having had a miserable time. I think the problem was that her husband was a lazy so and so who didn't want to work hard, which didn't go down too well in Oz. But then it hadn't gone down too well in Britain either, which is why they went. I don't know what they were expecting. On the other hand, some family friends moved to Australia in the late 60s for a few years. They were not true immigrants I think because his company sent him to set up a new manufacturing plant and stay on for a while as head of maintenance. They always planned to come back. They had a really good time and made a fair bit of money.
