    hutchie Dont tell him Pike!!

    Morning

After one of the members on here pointed it out to me with regards to a service record ive been trying to find out information about this camp but with no avail. Does anyone have any details about it being used as a camp other than with the free polish forces?

Have you tried a google search - the first thing I found was these snippets:

    http://www.west-dunbarton.gov.uk/leisure-parks-events/tourism-and-visitor-attractions/museums-and-galleries/collections/war-and-military/world-war-ii/

Camis Eskan House on the eastern fringes of Helensburgh was also used as a military hospital, particularly for Wrens and other naval personnel from HMS Tullichewan.

There was also a Free Polish Nissan hut camp in the field to the west of Camis Eskan. This was also used as civilian housing up to 1956.
