I also got the burma style shirt, shorts, trousers, dated boots, 3 jackets all dated, commando hat, smoke mortar fin, real grenade, original toothbrush and original shaving razor in its original bag, duffle bag and a lot of other items all for £100
There is no hard-and-fast rule, but 'Bush Hat' seems the more favoured term amongst British troops and 'Slouch Hat' amongst Australians. Do show us the rest of the haul. £100 is very cheap; a decent pair of green trousers is worth more than that alone.
Shorts , original dated boots , stained trousers , 3 jackets , shirt , duffel bag , speaker and a grenade ... More to come....
My dad called his a 'bush hat'. The brimmed cotton hat which continued in use for many years and often called a bush hat, he called a 'jungle hat'. That was a really good buy. I am sorry we missed that for the Kohima Museum who are looking for exactly that kind of stuff....
I bought it of a man that came to me when I was displaying my things and he just said he has all his dad's old stuff if I wanted it.
