I, Or rather We, had one of those A40s. Bright Red, Black roof. Bought it for £3.50p ( Almost a Weeks wages then ) from a local-ish garage in 1972. We were just 15 at that time, a couple of School friends, and me, and had just started work. It was an MOT failure, my Dad and Uncle called at the garage to collect it. Dad drove it a few miles to an 'Old Airfield' which I had arranged with the Farmer to drive it around the old tracks. All totally illegal on my Dads part, but in those days, along quiet country roads, at dusk... Also obtained Two Ford Anglia's, Free of Charge, transported the same way. We had Great Fun driving along those old Wartime tracks, between the Air Raid Shelters etc.
