Would I be about right in thinking that SOMEONE - a newcomer - had introduced some form of bug into the forum as after reading one intro - My Pc has gone berserk and inserting booking form etc over other threads
    i don't need this .....

    Tom, what intro was it?

Have you ran an anti virus and anti malware scan? Malware in particular would likely grab what seems to have befriended you.

Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer

Download, install (if you already haven't), run an update then a full scan. I'm assuming your on a PC and not a MAC.

    Cheers,

I'm viewing this on an iMac, Tom and not had any problems at all. Most surprised that you are having some trouble.

Tom, have you done any program updates lately? In particular Java or Adobe flash? Or added a browser plugin for flash?

If by chance, this newcomer has unintentionally infected the site, which in turn adversely affected your computer, I am dreadfully sorry and sincerely apologize.

Should this be the case, and my supposition regarding the origin of the virus/Trojan/malware be correct, it would be extremely ironic, but not funny in the least.

Can you remember which intro, Tom?

And, Jim - your continued paranoid theorising is not even slightly helpful.
Even suspicion of this sort of stuff is serious, and I can live without the fog of your accusations and stirring.
Please, give it a rest, mate. If you can.

Tom, it is some kind of Malware would be my guess. I think maybe Mac has its own program (xprotect?) that can be used to check your machine.
If you google Mac viruses or Mac malware there are some tools out there to check your machine. All major vendors now provide AV/AM for Mac.

I know die-hard Mac users bah humbug the virus/trojan/malware issues on a Mac, but the game has changed.
