Looking at all these tragic examples it's interesting to note that the vast majority died towards the end of both wars - in the case of the second world war victims 1944 being the most consistent.

I know they were killed in the same war (and the original point of this thread was to show those killed in the Great War and WWI), but these names have always stuck with me, for some reason - the Church brothers, killed in the same month, 1944: CHURCH, RAYMOND OLAVE Rank: Private Service No: 14559665 Date of Death: 07/07/1944 Age: 19 Regiment/Service: East Surrey Regiment 1/6th Bn. Not exactly brothers, but part of the former RAF headstone that's supporting this headstone is that of his brother-in-law. So we were told. This is St Laurence's church, Winslow. Bucks. I took these 2008.
There must be many, many examples of this in Russia; though I'm sure their record keeping isn't as good.
Last year I was in Santorini {Greek Islands] and on a boat cruise the skipper pointed out a small church, near the water line, below the town of Oira. He said the church was a memorial to 5 {I think} brothers from the Island who were killed in WW2. I could not, and still can not, get any further information. Any ideas?
