This is another armoured car that has been collecting dust for a few years so I though I would dust it off add so stowage and some crew. Figure is from Tamiya Achilles 17 pdr SP. Cheers Kevin
Great model. 3.7" AA box on the front and Bofors on the wings I hope that the 2 jerry cans on the front are water!
Not sure about the Bofors but the box on the front is for 5.5" Medium, at least that is what comes with the Accurate Armour 5.5" kit with matching decals. I ran out of decals for the cans on the front not sure if they were painted with white markings during WW II. Any advice appreciated. Cheers Kevin
From 43rd Recce. 10 Troop Boxes as described and one driver managed to bail out through the driver's window. Needs must! Water cans usually marked with a white cross or white indentations.
A pots-war picture of another Humber of the 43rd Recce ('A' Squadron), knocked out on the fringe of Gendringen (Holland) at the end of March 1945 during the break out from the Rhine bridgehead. The commander Lt. Jackson exited inscathed, but his two crew members were wounded. See: RHINE CROSSING 1945: The Rees bridgehead (30 Corps in operation 'Turnscrew')
Wartime Containers, Water, 4 1/2 Gallon were to be painted SCC2 (dogshit brown) with a white band under the handles and white indents. There should be half-inch-ish gaps in the white indents, though, on either side of the central square. The photo's an original colour one from NWE.
Thanks guys I will repaint accordingly Thanks Stolpi. I cannot find the link now but I got the name from images on a Dutch website which showed 49th Recce Humber Mk IV's of BEAU GESTE IV, BEAU IDEAL and a LRC Mk III BEAU NASH. Cheers Kevin
