Dad is deceased, and I am beginning my search on dad's history as a UK Army soldier and a POW. All I know is Dad was caught in Tunisia. He stated he moved around a lot....into Egypt, India, as a POW. He also said he was "fighting next to the Italians." I am confused. Does this sound correct to anyone? I am appreciative of any help. Thank You very much, Debra
Debra as Next of Kin you can get Dad's Service record . Look here for contact details. http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/searching-someone/3105-ww2-service-records-address.html and here Service records POW details are at National Archives at Kew.[I think] Have you anymore info to share with us such as Name, rank, number, regiment etc?
Dad's name was Alfred Ernest New, Birmingham, England. No other information other than what I shared above was talked about in the family. If anyone has any information they can share, I would gladly appreciate their help.
