    Sadly the TNA totally ignore the existence of the Iraqi Levies, with a large Assyrian component, if not majority, who were formed in 1928, principally to guard RAF bases. Renamed the RAF Levies in 1943/1944 they were disbanded in 1955. See: Iraq Levies - Wikipedia and History

    The role they played did not endear them to Iraqi Arabs it seems - that is another issue.
