    Hi.

I am hoping people here can help me, I have been researching my grandad and hit a brick wall for now so I am going to start researching two of his brothers who were both in Ww2 and request their service records.

I do not have a clue what branch they even served in to do this but I have a picture of them both together, one of them stood outside the family house after basic training and Karl who wears the glasses is at the middle back of the picture in Egypt. Can anyone help me?

    Thanks IMG_1063.JPG received_451514832041981.jpeg

The photo of the 2 of them is reversed as the medal ribbon of the Africa Star is on the wrong side & the battledress fly is the wrong way round too.

Apart from that all I say is they are in the Army.

I'm intrigued by the background to the Egypt photo...I don't actually know what 'SOS' Boots are - the sizing is English though....The wall of crates containing boots and the presence of local labour might well suggest RASC and a stores function.

Thank you. These are the type of Eagle eyes I needed :D.

With regards to Karl in Africa. His daughter doesn't have a clue what he served in BUT she said he spoke 5 languages and thinks it was possibly to do with that

This is him in local gear whilst over there. This is why she thinks it was as a interpreter received_570253750101658.jpeg

Once I get his records I can at least track some stuff down. He's next to the guy in the fez in this one received_918049918385026.jpeg

I think this is about to get even more expensive and time consuming haha.

I've already applied and got my grandads records (including death certificate) and about to apply for a brothers. Now knowing that photo is flipped one of them might be another brother as two of them look nearly identical.

There was seven of them and definitely 3 were in Ww2 and now it makes me think 4 were
