I voted that I didn't care because I don't live in London (or England for that matter, or Great Britain or even that side of the world) plus I had no clue who either of the contestants are. One sounds like a mad Russian scientist and the other, Barbie's surfer-dude boyfriend. So, based on a miniscule bit of knowledge and and a whole heeping helping of assumption, I could not make a selection.:icon-mrgreenbandit::icon-mrgreenbandit:
Thanks, slipdigit, for a great belly laugh. For someone who has lived in London (and now gets the London local TV news), the image of Boris as "a mad Russian scientist" and Ken as "Barbie's surfer-dude boyfriend" was just brilliant. (Or did you mean Ken as the mad Russian and Boris - well, you know...LOL)

They haven't got a clue of what they are messing with, but they decide they must take part, then they commit themselves in and in the end with no idea of an exit strategy! :group2:

I find it interesting that the British are more informed regarding American politics than the Americans are of the British.
I'm in the "couldn't care less" camp since London is 500 miles away, and both London and Londoners are irrelevant to anyone outside the confines of the M25.
I find it interesting that the British are more informed regarding American politics than the Americans are of the British. Closeted fascination with the US, perhaps?:wow:

Sadly the 'J Bird' is a different John Bird to the one I was hoping, he's the founder of the Big Issue magazine. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
Boris. Although he seems abit stupid he is better than he is given credit for. He is also one of the few polititions who actually cares and has a real heart.
Driving my mud covered Landy through the early morning streets of London before the congestion charge kicks in, pushing out good old diesel fumes (less than the buses mind!!!) is always worth it. Just hoping to bump into Ken on his bike. Just upset that they will not let me strap the stag to the bonnet as we used to but have to keep it inside. Well, nowhere for the wife to sit, the dogs are in the front after all. Causes hell of a commotion back home. Does that answer the question?

Just today been reading more of this huge daily charge that Rich mentioned... really grim news for London users of certain vehicles... particularly military ones .
Did anyone see Top Gear tonight and the bit about Car Parking charges payable through a mobile phone? Apparently the system doesn't work.
Just thought I'd let you know I'm fed of the poll on London politics so I've added a new one on 4th Wilts thread Bren or BAR, I've moved said thread to Allied Weapons & Equipment forum too.
I would have voted for "Boris" if his last name were Badernoff but I kind of doubted it so I went with choice #2....who the hell cares?!
I would of voted for me ... but I dont actually know. Now, if I asked you mayor of Waimangaroa, you would say... A) Griffiths b) Me C) It's Waimang, they dont have a mayor, they only have 50 houses!! The correct answer my dear friends, would be C.
The family having lived in london for five generations I thought I better get in on this Mayor thing. At the moment the general consensus of people known to me is; Boris - Good Ken - Bad This I think is because during his term of office Ken was liked, but hit people here hard in their pockets (Con Charge) and took no notice of the consultation process on the West London Extention, just went ahead with it anyway, but this is what politicians do. Same thing with the Red Buses. Along comes Boris, a likeable chap who talks the talk and walks the walk, so people think lets give him a try, so far so good. Then again this is a London thing, so all yous outside the M25 can P--s off back to your farms + cows. Love from Rob
