The following link may be of interest to members. It is book reviews from The Second World War Military Operations Research Group. The Second World War Military Operations Research Group is a community of scholars based in the United Kingdom who focus on operational aspects of military history in the era of the Second World War. One of the key areas that we are working on is developing an accessible collection of academic reviews that provides open access and engagement to a wider audience interested in the period.

Here is the link to the latest review of Sönke Neitzel (ed.) Tapping Hitler’s Generals: Transcripts of Secret Conversations, 1942-45 (Frontline Books, Barnsley, 2007)

A full list of books already reviewed is here - https://secondworldwaroperationsresearchgroup.wordpress.com/book-reviews/

I will use this thread to provide updates when new reviews are posted. We have some interesting books coming up in the future.

Comments welcome here and on the website.

Do you think a member of your group will review Arnhem A Few Vital Hours?

If it comes up for review then possibly. Publishers normally approach us and I add books to a list that members then choose if they want to review something rather than I approach them to review a specific title.

Un happily for 8th Army we didn't get McCreery as Commander of 8th Army until late so we had the mis fortune of Leese for most of 1944 with his boast of "I have 2000 Tanks and can afford

to lose 50% of them..and went on to lose 800 at the Liri valley alone - then more at the Gothic Line...

    Cheers
