Antoon, No 22 were based in Colchester, just a stones throw from Manningtree, whereas 21 were based in London (furthest west in Essex you can get). See Royal Engineers Bomb Disposal Officers Club - Bomb Disposal History Below is a map of No 22's area of responcibilty - unfortunately I don't have a date of the map but 19 BD Company is mentioned and they went to France with the invasion in '44.
