Hello my name is steve from the UK, northamptonshire, corby. Ive recently learned that a bomb was dropped in the gardens near my house, 3 doors away from me. Being in a mid terrace the impact is meters from my house. Ive seen pictures from the day it happened, back in 1941, May 10th. Maybe a strange, random question but i am very curious.... Does anyone know how to verify shrapnel scars? I think i have a few on my house but cant really tell. They are quite small, the main one being maybe 2.5 inches in length, angled in line with the impact spot. Its quite a deep gouge in the brick. I could upload a picture. Thank you to anyone can help with my random querey

good day steve39.yesterday.04:42 pm.re:bomb damage and scars.i lived in the london blitz, our house was totaly wiped out.but in your case if the house was just damaged they would have made it safe to live in.but bomb scars would be left.so stand back.look at a house in your street that was not damaged, then look at your brickwork.you will soon see shrapnel marks.regards bernard85
Hi, I also have some pictures of impact marks in The Bombing of Bangor section of my website. Feel free to take a look http://www.ww2ni.webs.com Andy
Thank you all for the responses! i have a few news paper clippings with accounts from those that lived in the row at the time along with a couple of pictures. very interesting. my house is under the 5th chimney to the left in pic that CL1 attached. It seems that my house along with the others in that row have similar marks / scars. The nearer to the impact site, the houses have more of these scars. other houses in the area dont have the same marks so possibly shrapnel scars. The pic of the house shows a scattering of small dark spots. dead centre is the biggest which is in the other picture. The bomb impacted 20 metres to the right of the pic. If these are shrapnel scars then the line visible in the biggest scar is in line with the impact area.
