I have posted many caricatures by Pat Rooney on the forum in the past.

Recently I acquired a Rooney of an American U.S.A.F. pilot named "Bob," stationed at Upper Heyford in 1952 flying KB50's.

I'm hopeful that through this forum I can find the identity of "Bob."

    Regards, David Layne.

I do not think that KB 50s ( this model was the tanker version of the B 50} served at Upper Heyford...may have been over at the East Anglian bases on rotation under SAC control.

However I have found a reference, probably SAC rotation, that the Bomb Groups No 2, 97 and No 509 were at Upper Heyford during this era with KB 29s as air tankers for the Bomb Group No 301 B29s.It would also appear that miscellaneous KB 29s and B 50Ds were also at Upper Heyford during the 1952 era.

"Bob" might have been a pilot on B50Ds.....associated Bomb Group..... no mention
