My grandmother was in the WAAF and worked on one of the satellite stations connected to Bletchley park. Am trying to find any info about this. Can someone point me in right direction to get started. Or share any info they may have?
It's a huge subject if you haven't any idea of at least what job she did in general terms and whereabouts she did it! You could try reading up on the intercept stations or "Y" services, they provided the raw messages to BP for decoding. Try here for starters:- http://ystations.webs.com/radiosecurityservice.htm
You could try contacting BP directly http://www.bletchleypark.org.uk/content/contact.rhtm they may have records or at least know where they are kept and perhaps document reference numbers. TD
Actually, that link leads to the Roll of Honour, there are 10000+ names of personnel listed - but not limited just to BP. Good hunting! http://rollofhonour.bletchleypark.org.uk/
If your grandmother's surname was Furness then this might be her? http://rollofhonour.bletchleypark.org.uk/search/record-detail/3304/
