    Hi all

Just purchased 'The Big Red One" Reconstructed and have to say they did a great job re: packaging and the restoration of the film. The set includes two discs, disc one the movie itself, digitally restored and remastered with improved sound and picture quality and an additional 47 minutes added to the movie. The additional 47 minutes has given the story more of a chance to flesh out the character development and now doesn't seem as choppy re: story of BR1 moving throughout North Africa, Sicily and Normandy. I really enjoyed this movie and it pays tribute justifiably to this famous division. Disc two contains all sorts of bonus material and is well worth the cost. Anyway thought I would share this with the members as others may be really interested in same. Sam Fuller wrote and directed this movie and is his story re: serving with The Big Red One. Thanks to Sam and all veterans for their contributions during WW2. Hope this was of some help.

I have only ever seen it once on TV and I agree that it was choppy.

If I ever go over to DVD in place of video, I may well get it.

Sounds interesting, I have the original but didn't rate it that highly. I'll let this one come down in price and grab the DVD maybe next year
