    Hello all

I have this relic, reputed to be from the Bobbing Church Bf109 of Aug 24th 1940. It seems to be the cover or back plate to something? I was wondering if any of you Messerschmitt experts out there know the component or could tell me the location on the aircraft, it was originally labelled as fuel tank, but that's about all i know. Any pictures would be a bonus..
    One of my favourite relics.

    many thanks

I think that it may be connected with the fuel pump as the firm made electrical products for several planes.

Check out this website that has contact details of the firm.

    Hartmann & Braun Ag

Email or letter may prove rewarding.

    Regards

I don't know if any of you contributed to this other site thread....
    German Plane - Sittingbourne

    It gives these details:
    24th August 1940 4:00p.m. Bf109E-1. 2./LG2. Uffz. Herbert Möller. Mackledens Farm, Bobbing

ME109 came down behind Bobbing Church (very close to Key Street) and the pilot is buried in Bobbing Churchyard.

A rear undercarriage wheel and tyre of a ME109-E3 recently came up on e-bay for sale. It had reportedly fell in to the ladies (who was selling it) grandmothers backyard at the height of Battle of Britain in 1940 in Clapham, London. It had a similar Label to the one above. Incidently it fetched more than £160, although I don't know the final price..

    Hi Harri,

Looks like the owner of the crash site has sold many parts seperately.. I know of two other persons who have parts of the same plane. I've spend a great deal of time in researching this particular crash and found some information that you might find interesting. You can find this information on my website: http://www.mijnoudespulletjes.nl/bf109.html
A copy of the actual combat report written by P/O K.J. Marston who shot down the plane can also be found on my website....
Finally, if you ever thinking about selling the items, I'm most interested to discus a fair price for them....

    Kind regards,

    Maarten Engels
